  • Oak aging barrels of all sizes may leak from the head or stave before and during use and is a normal part of the barrel aging process. Use Thousand Oaks' American Barrel Wax Sealer to manage leakage and prevent alcohol loss from your wooden barrel.
  • Directions For Use: Find the source of the leak, usually around the barrel head or stave seams. Then, with your finger, apply a small amount of wax into the barrel where the hole or leak is occurring. Push the wax into the hole until leaking stops and wipe away any excess.
  • If leaking persists, empty the barrel contents into a glass container, fill with hot or boiling water and storing tablet solution and allow to sit for 10 minutes. Repeat wax application as required.
