Saltwater pool owners also need to shock their pool and test Chlorine, pH, and total alkalinity levels. AquaChek’s Salt Test Kit System provides the most commonly used tests conveniently packaged together in one kit.

How does it work? AquaChek White titrators measure salt (sodium chloride) levels from 400 to 7,000 ppm. With appropriate salt levels, you know your salt generator can produce the correct amount of chlorine to keep water clean and free of pollutants. Collect a sample of an inch of water in a small clean cup. Place the test strip into the sample and allow it to soak for a few minutes until the yellow band at the top of the strip turns dark. Remove the strip and compare the salt levels with the level shown on the bottle.

Why these 3 chemistries? Chlorine helps keep the water free from algae buildup. Alkalinity prevents sudden changes to pH, which in turn measures the amount of acidity in the water, helping keep it from developing scale or causing corrosion. Cyanuric Acid acts as a stabilizer to shield the chlorine from the dissipating effects of the UV rays.
