Before you condition, use Howard’s Cutting Board Cleaner to prepare the surface to ensure the conditioner will be able to penetrate deeper into the wood pores. The process is simple! Rinse the items with warm water. Use a sponge to apply the cutting board cleaner until a rich lather is formed. Rinse clean with warm water and towel dry. Once the surface is completely air dried, it is time for using Howard’s Butcher Block conditioner. Apply the conditioner and let it soak for at least 20 minutes. Use the microfiber cloth to wipe off any excess conditioner and buff to a nice sheen. Howard’s butcher block conditioner is a blend of food grade mineral oil, beeswax and carnauba wax that will condition your wood surfaces that are used for food preparation and serving. Unlike conditioners that use plant base oil, this conditioner will never go rancid!
